In spite of working on board, the seamen from HMC on M.V. Misola Shine and MV.GH Resources made donation to the quake-hit zone after hearing the news about 5•12 earthquake in Sichuan Province. The seamen on the two ships donated ＄ 970 USD in total.
Mao Mengsheng, an intern seaman on M.V. Misola Shine, is from the quake-hit zone. Fortunately his family members were not hurt, although the house was destroyed during the earthquake. All the Chinese seamen on M.V. Misola Shine made donation to help Mao rebuild his family.
Under the leadership of Capt. Chen Yanqiao, the seamen on MV.GH Resources also made donation to the quake-hit victims. Capt. Chen said that despite on board, all the seamen on board were deeply impressed by the disaster. They concerned people in the quake-hit zone very much, and hoped the donation could help the orphans after the earthquake.
