On September 12, 2023, a joint delegation from the Hong Kong Seamen’s Union, led by Zhang Shitian, the chairman of the union, visited Huayang Maritime Center Co., Ltd. General Manager Li Liqian and key leaders of Huayang’s related businesses warmly welcomed the guests and engaged in deep discussions and exchanges.

         Accompanying Chairman Zhang Shitian were Feng Zhiping, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Regions; Wang Guoqing, Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Liaison Office of the China Workers’ International Exchange Center; and Wang Jianlan, Director of the Seafarers’ Work Department of the Chinese Seamen and Construction Workers’ Union.

         During the symposium, Mr. Li Liqian extended a warm welcome to the delegation for visiting Huayang. He then presented a 20th anniversary promotional video of Luoyang Huayang Conference Center, inviting everyone to witness the transformation of barren mountains through tree planting and afforestation by Huayang people. This visual display highlighted their indomitable spirit in “overcoming mountains like Yu Gong” and taking “responsibility with courage”.

         Furthermore, Mr. Li Liqian also provided an in-depth introduction to the current business development of Huayang across multiple sectors, including crew service, ship management, ship agency, information innovation, meteorological and air navigation, cultural tourism, and exhibition.

         During the meeting, Mr. Li Liqian emphasized that the cooperation between Huayang and Hong Kong Seamen's Union was greatly supported by the Union's care and attention. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of Huayang and hoped that this visit would serve as an opportunity for both parties to continue to maintain close ties. He also warmly welcomed the Hong Kong Seamen's Union to engage in more exchanges and seek guidance.

         Mr. Zhang Shitian mentioned that their visit to Huayang marked the first trip since the COVID-19 pandemic, which held significant value. He affirmed Huayang's positive results and humane care.

         Meanwhile, Standing Committee member Zheng Yongkun introduced the recent works and development of the Hong Kong Seamen's Union. He revealed that the Union hoped to establish closer communication with Huayang in the future, timely exchange the latest industry information, and jointly provide better services for seamen.
